Victory Day. The restored factory museum of reputation for work opened its doors on the 6-th of May

The General Director of “Korund” Ponkratyev P.A was honored to cut the red ribbon at the door of the museum of this factory.
The first visitors of this renovated museum (they were war veterans and former distinguished employees of the factory) were amazed to see the light and spacious premises. The design of the premises was very original and interesting. The three rooms of the museum inform visitors about the history of the factory. They begin from the very beginning since its foundation in 1915. The factory was built on the territory of the government lands in the basin of the Chernaya River in the Balakhnu vyezd. It was built 30 versts away from Nizhny Novgorod within walking distance of Rastyapino railway station. The site was 15 versts away from the Oka River. It was a chemical plant, producing mineral acids. At present the enterprise is called “Korund”. The veterans of the factory said that they had gone back to their green years thanks to the museum. They wrote down their impressions in a special book of opinions of the museum. They said that their hard work, their children’s work (who are working at the factory now) hadn’t gone to waste. The veterans thank for preserving the history of the works and the history of their lives.
The first factory museum was set up in 1970, but the exhibits were dismantled during the crises of the factory and left to the mercy of fate in a basement.
When new owners came to the factory the new administration decided to restore the museum. A lot of photos and exhibits were restored.
A group of factory specialists was involved in the restoration work. The head of the group was deputy director Telegina T.I.
The administration of Korund thanks the director of the Saloon of Modern design Kadakova E.D. for the design of the museums rooms and the restoration of the exhibits.
