The 26thof May. The stadium “ Pioneer”. Mini-soccer finals took place. The four strongest teams of Korund are the team of the administration, the team of the corundum shop, the team of firefighters and the team of security guards. Our valient firefighters were the strongest team and won. The match ended with the score at 3:1. The final match between the team of the administration and the team of the firefighters was a stiff competition. At first everyone thought that it would be a draw. At last the team of the firefighters gained the upper hand. The team took the challenge cup. The challenge cup had been introduced for the Day of chemical industry workers by the administration of the factory. The team of the security guards was third. The best players are the goalkeeper of the team of the administration Teplyakov O. , forward Ibraghimov and the back of the team of the security guards Nefyodov O..
Chess.
On the eve of the Day of the Town a lightning chess tournament took place at the chess and draft club. The time-limit is 5 minutes for a game. The best chess players of our factory took part in the tournament. It is necessary to say that the tournament was rather interesting and the competition was very stiff. One should mention the active participation of the veterans of the factory. The prize-winners were Shulgin N.F., who was first, Tryamkin N.I. who was second and Kouzmichov was third. The Veteran o f Labour and sport Aksyonov was fourth, because he could not get enough points.
Beach handball
An open beach handball championship took place at the stadium “Khimik” on the 29thof May.
This competition is the first round of the championship of the Region. A team from Krasnoye Sormovo, sports school№ 10(Nizhny Novgorod) and two teams from Bor arrived on a friendly visit. The host team turned out to be extremely hospitable, therefore the handball players of Korund were only third. The team from Sormovo was first and the team of sports school№ 10(Nizhny Novgorod) was second.
The absence of our two forwards Andrey Filatov and Sergey Yashin influenced the results of the competition. But according to the President of the handball federation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Kovba the team of Korund showed a dynamic game with a lot of different manoeuvers.
The employees who took part in the competitions thank the administration and the trade union committee for their support and an opportunity to get a lot of vigour, energy and positive emotions on sports grounds.
